The Proust Questionnaire

Cause I'm bored, I'm never going to be on Inside the Actor's Studio and I really just like answering questions like this.

1. What is your favorite word? Enthusiasm. It literally means "filled with God" and I love the idea that being enthused or excited about something is God's joy speaking through me.

2. What is your least favorite word? Moist. Or panties. I'm also not a huge fan of the "c" word.

3. What turns you on? Intelligence and humor.

4. What turns you off? Close-mindedness.

5. What sound or noise do you love? Besides laughter, my favorite sound is the hissing cracking noise of a striking match.

6. What sound or noise do you hate? Phlegm. Any phlegmy kind of noise like hawking a loogie. Yuck.

7. What is your favorite curse word? Clusterf**k.

8. What profession other than your own would you like to try? Photography

9. What profession would you not like to do? Doctor, or anything where I was responsible for another life.

10. If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say to you at the pearly gates? Welcome home, your family and friends are over here.

11. What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery? Lonliness 

12. Where would you like to live? In a rustic cottage on a dreary moor 

13. What is your idea of earthy happiness? Being surrounded by people who can laugh 

14. Who are your favorite heroes of fiction? Atticus Finch, Elizabeth Bennett 

15. What is it you most dislike? Ignorance, close-mindedness, mindless sheep mentality.

16. Who are your favorite heroes in real life? My grandparents 

17. Your favorite painter? I don't really have a favorite but I have a lot of Jack Vettriano around the house and my favorite painting of all time is Nighthawks by Edward Hopper. 

18. Your favorite musician? This is almost impossible for me to answer. It changes all the time. But I have a deep love for Gavin DeGraw, Snow Patrol and basically anything involving Ben Gibbard. 

19. The quality you admire most in a man? Compassion 

20. The quality you admire most in a woman? Independence 

21. Your favorite virtue? Tolerance 

22. Your most marked characteristic? Shyness and quiet 

23. What do you value most in your friends? Honesty, passion and empathy 

24. What is your principle defect? Self-doubt 

25. What is your favorite color? Blue 

26. What is your favorite flower? Sunflowers or Lilies 

27. Who are your favorite prose writers? Charles Dickins, Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte 

28. Who are your favorite poets? e.e. cummings or T.S. Eliot 

29. What is your present state of mind? Euphoric contentment 

30. What is your motto? Whatever happens, happens.
